Brightside Report takes accuracy seriously. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently.

Our Commitment

We strive for accuracy in every story we publish. Because we summarize reporting from other outlets, errors can occasionally occur in our summaries, attributions, or categorizations. When they do, we want to know about them and fix them quickly.

How to Request a Correction

If you spot an error in any story on Brightside Report — whether it's a factual mistake, a misattribution, a broken link, or an outdated claim — please let us know:

• Use our contact form and select "Correction Request"
• Include the story title or URL and a description of the error
• If possible, include a link to the correct information

How We Handle Corrections

When we receive a correction request, our editorial process is as follows:

1. Acknowledge — We review the request and verify the reported error against the original source.
2. Correct — If the error is confirmed, we update the story promptly. Substantive corrections include a note at the bottom of the article indicating what was changed and when.
3. Retract if necessary — If a story is found to be fundamentally inaccurate or based on a retracted source, we remove it from the site and note the reason.

Types of Corrections

• Minor corrections — Typos, formatting issues, or minor factual clarifications are fixed without a formal correction note.
• Substantive corrections — Significant factual errors, misattributions, or misleading summaries are corrected with an editorial note appended to the story, including the date of the correction.
• Retractions — Stories that cannot be corrected because the underlying reporting has been retracted or discredited are removed, with a brief explanation left in their place.

Transparency

We believe corrections strengthen trust. We do not quietly edit stories to cover mistakes. Substantive changes are noted, and our editorial team treats correction requests as an important part of maintaining the integrity of Brightside Report.

Public Corrections Log

All substantive corrections, clarifications, and retractions are recorded in our public Corrections Log. This provides a transparent, chronological record of corrections made to published content.
